Eclectic Hours is a weekly radio program hosted by Paul Porzio, every Sunday morning since 1995, featuring a wide musical bandwidth of Contemporary Folk & Singer-songwriters and long-standing Folk and Rock artists. (Yeah, it's a "Hybrid" show. Guess I'm just not a purist. I just see music as a spectrum, and heck, I grew up in the 60's/70's when you could hear everything on free-format FM! The word "Eclectic" gives me a wide leeway for behavior!)

Episode Description - The Annual Self-Indulgent Birthday Show, formally known as "How I Became Eclectic." (HA!)

SET 1 - Gratitude to the music my folks surrounded us with, starting with my first musical memory, from the radio sitting in the back seat of the car, to the Met on the radio every Saturday afternoon, to Dad's attempts at getting this Grieg piece down on the piano.
SET 2 - Mom and Dad started to allow us to play vinyl on the "phonograph player" and we played these first two until you could practically see through the groves. It's no wonder the 3rd song is one of my Beatles favorites...
SET 3 - My musical idols from the late sixties into the 70s. It shouldn't be surprising that these are primarily keyboard driven!
SET 4 - a piece where the classical and the contemporary comes together for me, along with my introduction to synthesizers, and the always present Broadway influence. (After all it is Tony's night!)
SET 5 - When I first heard Ellis' "55" it made me smile, and after that two more that always make me smile.
SET 6 - another nod to the fact it's Tony's night, with a song that could be this administration's theme song, followed by one from somebody I've followed for years, Mr. Rundgren!
SET 7 - Closing with what seemed to be the perfect songs to end with. (Especially for a birthday at my "advanced age". HA!)
